ABSTRACT
It is important to develop methods to improve the estimation of the soil moisture content, because of the impact in the weather and in various activities, such as agriculture and livestock. This task may be done by placing moisture instruments in the ground at different points and levels, through the use of remote sensing information, or running Hydrological Models. This work shows the results of the hydrological model CLASS U3M 1D calibration for Diamante and Parana stations in the province of Entre Rios. The hydraulic parameters were estimated through the information obtained from Argentina Soil Maps and the Pedotransfer Functions. The results were statistically significant at 99 %, with correlation values between the observed series and the simulated series, in general, on the order of 0.6 and 0.7 for Diamante and between 0.3 y 1 for Parana. The root mean square error remained approximately in 0.06 m3/m3 for Diamante and between 0.03 m3/m3 and 0.18 m3/m3 for Parana depends on the simulation. After applying a variation in the evapotranspiration input variable, correlation values close to 1 were obtained when the models results were compared.
